What is it about?
The method in one sentence.
Testing rotating and cyclic machines requires dedicated methods. Order analysis shows how individual components – gears, shafts, pistons, pumps, tyres – contribute to overall vibration and noise.
How does it work?
SonicTC tracks the relation between rpm and vibration content. From tacho or encoder, rpm is computed, spectra are mapped to orders, and non-stationary content is exposed via modulation analysis.
Typical applications
- NVH evaluation on e-drives, gearboxes and pumps
- Order tracking through run-up and coast-down phases
- Modulation analysis to detect bearing and gear faults
- Combustion engines: intake and exhaust valve closing behaviour via the engine block surface
- Crankshaft speed (RPM) determined without an additional encoder
