Mobile impact hammer test (Beckhoff CX7000, NI-9232)

Initialises the system, runs tests in a loop and starts the life bit monitoring.

What it is about
Station: Mobile Physical hardware: Beckhoff CX7000, NI-9232 Category: Modal & FRF analysis

Mobile sound test stand with physical hardware: a Beckhoff CX7000 controller and an NI-9232 measurement module with a microphone. After the hammer blow the microphone signal triggers the measurement; RMS and FFT are calculated and the spectral maxima in three frequency bands (2–3 kHz, 7–8 kHz, 14–15 kHz) are evaluated. A life bit mechanism monitors the connection to the controller in parallel and raises an alarm if it fails. A screencast of the configuration is available.

The sequence in detail

Workflows in detail

  1. Main

Initialises the system, runs tests in a loop and starts the life bit monitoring.

Start → init → set hammer time → test loop (start trigger → call MobileAnalysis → evaluation output → store) → call CX_SendLifeBit → end.

  2. CX_SendLifeBit

Connection monitoring towards the controller with an alarm.

Start → life bit loop (toggle bit → if not set: send alarm → delay) → end.

  3. MobileAnalysis

Triggered microphone measurement with acoustic evaluation.

Start → signal trigger microphone → microphone measurement → analysis "Basic Evaluation" → end.

  4. Basic Evaluation

    Characteristic block.

    Characteristic start → RMS → FFT → max 2–3 kHz → max 7–8 kHz → max 14–15 kHz → characteristic end.
